Vivian Maier: Amazing unknown street photographer

This is quite a story, a Chicago nanny who shot street photography in her spare time but never sought recognition or publication died recently and would have stayed unknown, but John Maloof bought a box of her negatives at an auction, and the story starts from there. Have a watch…

This is really a great video.
If you're not familiar with the Sartorialist, it's a blog out of NYC that focuses on everyday fashion, a photographer who roams the streets to find people dressed in great ways.

Check it out here:
http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/

Of particular note: check out the video technique at the end of the video of projecting still images on buildings/bridges as they are driving around.

Enjoy

Vintage magazine cover and advertising art from the Golden Age of American Illustration

Another set of vintage design, this time its illustration based magazine cover art and ads from MagazineArt.org. Most of their collection is from the late 1800's trough 1950, but there are a few from the sixties. As always I'm just scratching the surface, the ad section is fantastic.

Looking back through old bookmarks I found a link to Project C-90, but it was dead. The German one has a much better UI, so that's where all these are linked to. Enjoy.
